James Shepherd
“Nothing gives me greater joy than to be able to pray for others— to feel God’s love for them— and to see lives (including my own!) being transformed.”
James Shepherd || August 7, 1960 - August 23, 2026
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of James Shepherd, on August 23, 2026. James lived a life defined by faith, hard work, family, and a deep love for the people and places entrusted to his care.

Read and Share Memories of James
James touched many lives, and we know everyone who knew him has their own stories and memories. We would love for this to be a place where friends, family, and community can share those memories with one another.
Read what others have shared, or leave a memory of your own.
If You'd Like to Do Something in James' Memory
Your thoughts, stories, and memories of James are more than enough. We aren't asking for gifts or donations.
For those who feel they would like to do something more, in lieu of flowers we are putting together ways to contribute to a few places and causes that meant something to James: Camp Bow-Isle, land and wildlife preservation near the Quadros Ranch, and Chestnut Hill Benevolent Center, whose community cared for James during his final days.
There is absolutely no expectation to contribute. We simply wanted to offer a way for those who feel moved to give something in James' memory to support the places and causes that reflected the things he cared about.
Details will be added here as we establish the best ways to contribute.
